I shot this series for Fashionmarlimu swimwear. And I'm thrilled with how it turned out! I'm a lover of all things summer, pastel, and iridescent. This was the perfect marriage of those three things in to one shoot. #pastelmermaids

I originally shot this on a slate gray backdrop from Savage, knowing I would be changing the colors to something more fun and graphic. I've been on-location for a few months and haven't had the luxury of traveling with all my backdrops. The 53" backdrops from Savage are perfect for the photographer on the go. If anything, it's pushed me to be more creative. The post product process involved masking out the background and adding in the palm leave shadows. The concept gradually changed as I played around in Photoshop. I love the ability to be flexible and change direction with a shoot and see how it evolves. 

For the makeup, I asked Ruth to give the models gorgeous glowing, summer skin, and beach waves. Normally, we would change the look throughout the shoot, but we wanted to keep the looks natural and the focus to be the swimwear. She did such a great job at creating a summery, #nomakeupmakeup look and making the skin look hydrated and vibrant. Proper skin prep is essential for a makeup look like this!
